The Story:
Though none know it now, for all that did know of it have perished, the lands that so many will come to call home are tainted with ferocity and stained with blood. It was a classic example of the timeless feud between wolf and man, each one encroaching on the others territory, searching for room, food, and better access to the rivers that flow through and nourish the lands. Conflict was eminent, and eventually war broke out. Man fought with daggers and spears; wolf fought with tooth and claw. All were included in the feud, and neither fae, woman, pup, nor child was spared. The war raged for seven years until it came down to the final battle between a single wolf, and a single man. Peace was not in either males mind as they each fought to defeat the other, to end the war that had destroyed so much. The result was both victory and defeat for each side, for the man was killed in battle, yet the wolf soon died from mortal wounds. The lands were left burned, charred, bloodstained, and void of life, the rivers tainted with decay and rot, making them undrinkable. The ruins of the once prosperous town lay in shambles, buildings littering the ground.
The lands lay in quite for years after the final battle, healing itself of the wounds left from the long war. New trees have grown to replace those that were destroyed and burned, and the grasses and other foliage have grown over the places that lay bare as a result of the war. The river has cleansed itself and had returned to its nourishing ways. The land then lay quiet and peaceful, a perfect place for life once again.
Due to this, it was not long before man and wolf began to return to the lands. The men have brought dogs with them, to serve as sled pullers. They have also named the land Amityville, for amity is a word that means a cheerfull and happy place. Their intent is to keep peace with the wolves, by helping them eat well in rough times. The wolves themselves have mixed feeling with the people, for some enjoy their company and help, while others scorn it. Some wolf packs keep the dogs well away as well, while others may allow one or two within their ranks. Peace reigns at the moment, but will it last?
Will History Repeat Itself? Will Amityville betray it's name?
