Name: Josephine Calloway
*Nickname: Jo or just Calloway, never Josie
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Girl
House: Slytherin
Physical Description: Jo has very long, waist length hair that's arrow straight. It's almost a blinding shade of blond-white, with a straight, down-to-earth, middle part. She rarely puts it up, but occasionally she'll braid the lot of it in a multitude of small braids. If she's flying or just outside, she'll wrap them tightly around her head and secure them with pins. Jo hasn't cut her hair since she was six, and she's not going to hack it off now.
Her eyes are honey brown, with heavy lids and eyelashes that give her a sleepy look, making her the subject of teacher's incessant torture for years on end, people who believe eye contact is required for your ears to work.
The best word for her in the dictionary is gangly. Or maybe angular. Either way, it sometimes looks like she's been taken by her head and her feet and s t r e t c h e d, even though she is no more than a few inches above average height. She is comprised of bony limbs hustled together on a body. By no means is she a slender, delicate girl. Jo is always in motion, flying through the world in a series of bumped knees, jabbed elbows and spectacular crashes. Clumsy is a bit of an understatement with her. If there's a crack in a sidewalk, she'll manage to find it and trip over it, and maybe bring a few people down with her too.
As for clothing, she'll throw on whatever is on the floor of her room. She goes by a process of elimination, dictated by smell and the last time they were washed. As it is, her wardrobe is comprised mostly of jeans distressed solely by the number of times she's worn them, a sad looking pair of boots with countless nicks and patched holes, and a coat who's original wearer was much larger and a man; it's a deep gray, as well as worn and scratched up, but nonetheless warm and cozy.
Personality: Though usually mellow, she nonetheless has a hot temper when it's prodded. Jo is flashy, and most of the time thinks after she's opened her mouth. An easy liar, occasionally she'll spout out untruths to shock her onlookers. With her interesting past though, they usually aren't needed and she can generally have a few gaping mouths by the end of a couple of true sentences. Though it's true that she does have a faulty habit of speaking before thinking, she does value getting her true thoughts out in the open. Usually, for better or for worse, she can tell a mood when she sees one- she grew up with six siblings, and the middle one of them all she's usually observant and quick to catch on.
She has a wicked sense of humor, the under-your-breath kinds of remarks that make others unsure of whether or not they're really supposed to laugh.
For a Slytherin, she's kind. To those in her house, and those who actually matter. Downright nasty to Hufflepuffs, snarky to Gryffindors, and friendly if not rubbing shoulders with the Ravenclaws. She can be decent usually, but it's unlikely if someone from her house is watching. Fiercely independent though, she has some friends outside her house whatever her own think of it.
For all her sleepy appearance, Jo has a shrewd and cunning mind that almost got her put in Ravenclaw- it was the cunning part that landed her in Slytherin. She can wrap people around her finger.
*History: From a city, she grew up in a large family. She and her younger brother were the only wizards among it though.
*Likes: Cats, lying, books, painting, drawing mustaches on people.
*Dislikes: Animal haters, Gryffindors, know-it-alls, and snobs.
*Pet/Weapon/Something or other: She brought a cat to school, a very small black one named Malky. He has pale green eyes, and a single white paw.
